Compass Archaeology
Compass Archaeology is a well-established commercial archaeological unit based in Central London, undertaking projects in all fields of archaeological enquiry and investigation including desktop assessments, watching briefs, larger excavations, and standing building assessments.
We cover all periods of archaeology, from the prehistoric to the very modern, and all types of archaeology, including garden, industrial and church archaeology. We undertake projects throughout Central and Greater London, as well as in neighbouring counties.
We are also capable of implementing the recent NPPF guidelines (‘National Planning Policy Framework’), which integrates planning strategy to identify heritage assets and evaluate them early on in the planning process.
We are essentially a small company, although can provide a larger field team when required. Our smaller size enables us to be flexible in our approach to archaeological work, thereby enabling us to ‘fit in’ with clients’ needs and provide a more personalised service.
Please see the following pages for the services we provide, examples of past projects, and contact details.
